The benefits of ENCCTGA membership are the following:
  • Education: Programs are organized for each membership meeting including presentations, demonstrations and farm tours...  Click here for the 2010 Winter meeting photos...

  • Marketing: Members are listed in the “Choose and Cut” Christmas tree listing distributed by the NC Department of Agriculture and here on this website!

  • Contact with Other Christmas Tree Growers: Communication with members at meetings provides an opportunity to exchange information. A periodic newsletter "Pine Tips" and other timely mailings are sent to members.  Members are located in the NC counties indicated below - and we have some members located in SC, TN, and VA as well.

  • Research: The latest research results are presented by NC State University faculty at membership meetings. In addition members have the opportunity to have input into future research priorities.
More than one million acres of land have been planted in Christmas trees. The industry employs over 100,000 people. Many Christmas tree growers grow trees on a part-time basis to supplement farm and non-farm income.

Selling directly to the consumer has become a major market for many Christmas tree farms. Some tree farms offer the consumer the chance to select his own tree while it is still growing on the tree farm.
